Requesting To Use The Lab Spaces & Equipment
Linguistics Lab space and equipment is primarily for the use of Linguistics and Ling-affiliated graduate students and faculty for dissertation or thesis research, coursework, independent research, and assistantships. Use by faculty or students from other departments may be approved on a case-by-case basis. The Linguistics Lab includes an eye tracking station, a sound booth, a computer, and a corner furnished appropriately for sociolinguistic interviews.
The Grad Lab next door has long been a place for grad students to relax and socialize and includes a computer, printer, microwave, and mini-frig. Reservations are no longer required to use the Grad Lab.
Please fill out the Graduate Linguistics Lab Reservation to request use of the space or any equipment in the Linguistics Lab (located in HUM 152).
Before filling out the survey, please ensure you have the following information ready:
- The specific equipment or space you wish to use.
- The times and dates you need the equipment or space.
- Any special requirements for your project.
Alternatively, you can email the Lab manager, Ivette S. González at ivgonzalez@unm.edu.
Your feedback and requests help us manage resources effectively and ensure the lab meets everyone’s needs.
Please note:
- Masks are recommended in the Linguistics Lab and the Grad Lab. Please be mindful of social distancing as well.
- Damage to lab space or equipment may result in financial liability as well as loss of access to the lab and its equipment.
- Vandalized or stolen equipment will result in criminal prosecution.
